Why Pools Turn Green

A green pool is almost always an algae bloom caused by one or more of these factors:

Chlorine dropped to zero — Without sanitizer, algae takes over in 24–48 hours in Florida heat
Pump or filter failure — No circulation means no distribution of chemicals
Extended absence — Vacation, snowbird season, or just forgetting
Heavy rain — Dilutes chemicals and introduces phosphates that feed algae
Poor previous service — Not all pool companies maintain proper chemical levels

The good news? A green pool is almost always recoverable without draining. Our green-to-clean process is faster, cheaper, and better for your pool surface than draining and refilling.

Our Green-to-Clean Process

Assessment & Testing

We test your water chemistry, inspect equipment, and determine the severity. Not all green pools are the same — some need a light treatment, others need the full protocol.

Shock Treatment

We add a carefully calculated dose of chlorine shock and algaecide. Too little won't work. Too much can damage your pool surface. We get it right.

Brush & Circulate

Thorough brushing breaks up algae colonies clinging to walls and floors. We ensure your pump and filter are running continuously to circulate the treatment.

Filter, Clean, Repeat

Over the next 2–4 days, we return to backwash filters, re-test chemistry, and add chemicals as needed. Dead algae gets filtered out, turning the water from green to cloudy to clear.

Final Balance & Polish

Once the water is clear, we do a final chemical balance and ensure everything is dialed in. Your pool is ready to swim.
